Katy has two kinds of yards. South of I-10, in Cinco Ranch, Seven Meadows, Grand Lakes and Cross Creek Ranch (77494, 77450, 77441), the neighborhoods are established and every front-yard change goes through architectural review. North and west, in Elyson, Cane Island, Jordan Ranch and Tamarron (77449, 77493), the houses are new and the yard is flat builder sod baking in full sun.

We work in both, with the owner on site and the same crew every visit, in English or Spanish. We answer within 1 hour · free quote today.

HOA & ARC approval

Who turns in your HOA request in Katy, and when

New construction

Your new Katy home: from builder sod to a finished yard

In Elyson, Jordan Ranch, Tamarron or Cross Creek West, the builder hands you a flat lot that drains slowly after a downpour, a strip of sod and nothing else. We do it in stages that are easy on the budget, and you can use the yard after each one.

  1. 01. Slope the yard gently away from the house and fill the low spots that hold water.

  2. 02. Sod where the family walks and plays: St. Augustine in shade, Bermuda in full sun.

  3. 03. Foundation beds with full-sun plants, steel edging and hardwood mulch.

  4. 04. A paver walkway or patio once the plants have settled in.

Design and maintenance

Landscape design and installation in Katy

Front-yard plans start with a drawing you can take to the review committee: bed lines, a plant list with mature sizes, and the mulch and edging we'll use. Design and installation starts at $2,400, and the plan doubles as your ARC paperwork. Sod, pavers and rock are priced separately so you can do them in stages.

Lawn care and yard maintenance in Katy and Fulshear

We come weekly from March to October and every other week from November to February to mow, edge, weed-eat and blow off the driveway and sidewalk. Lots up to 8,000 square feet start at $65 per visit; bigger lots are priced by size. Bed cleanup and fresh mulch twice a year starts at $165 per bed, and that's what keeps a front yard looking finished.

Common questions

Questions Katy homeowners ask first

01

Do you handle the HOA approval for me?

We put together the paperwork: a drawing to scale, the plant list with mature sizes, the mulch and edging, and photos if the form asks for them. You turn it in, because HOAs like Cinco Ranch only take requests from the homeowner. If the committee asks for a change, we revise the drawing and you send it back in.

02

Which parts of Katy do you serve?

Cinco Ranch, Seven Meadows, Grand Lakes, Kelliwood, Firethorne, Cross Creek Ranch and Cross Creek West, Elyson, Cane Island, Jordan Ranch, Tamarron, plus Fulshear and Richmond. If your subdivision isn't on the list, text us the address and we'll tell you if it's on our route.

03

The builder sod on my new house is dying. What now?

Usually nobody loosened the soil before the sod went down, and the lot holds water. We check the slope first and fix the low spots, then decide if the sod can be saved with a watering schedule or needs replacing. Resodding a front yard is a one-day job in spring or fall.

04

What grass holds up in a sunny Katy backyard?

Tifway 419 Bermuda takes full sun, heat and kids running on it. St. Augustine wants some shade and more water. Zoysia sits in between and needs mowing less often. We match the grass to the light in each part of your yard instead of using one grass for the whole lot.

05

Do you do weekly lawn care, or just one-time jobs?

Both. Lawn care clients get a set day and the same crew, weekly in the growing season and every other week in winter. After a one-time job like new beds, a regular maintenance plan keeps them edged and mulched. There's no long contract, and you can cancel with two weeks' notice.

06

How do I get a price?

Text a few photos of your yard to 832-968-0346 and tell us what you'd like changed, or use the quote form. For design work, we come out, measure and send a written quote with a drawing you can use for your ARC request. We answer within 1 hour · free quote today.
